FALLING IN THE TACKLE

 

  1. Ball in two hands.
  2. Position ball away from point of contact, turn toward support during contact.
  3. Tuck shoulder under and roll on to upper back.
  4. Position body between the ball and opposition.
  5. Quickly reach out and place the ball at arm’s length away from the opposition.
  • Older players can keep driving forward in the contact and hit the ground with the ball controlled underneath their chest. They must then quickly recoil at the hips and reach back as far as possible and place the ball as far away from the opposition as possible.
